Mark Knopfler Annonces Summer 2013 Concert Dates!!!

Recently grabbing a Life Time Achievement Award at the 2012 Ivor Novello Awards (the UK’s highest song writing accolade), Mark Knoplfer has revealed the dates of concerts to be played in summer 2013 in the support of his new album Privateering which released on 3rd September 2012.

The tour runs through April, May, June and July 2013, encompassing 72 shows in 25 European countries. Tickets costing £41.00 & £45.00 will go on sale at 9am Friday 7th September 2012 and are available online, from the booking hotline number 0844 493 6666, or in person at the Metro Radio Arena Box Office.

2013 UK tour announced by Mark Knopfler!!

The co-founder & frontman of rock legends Dire Straits, British singer-songwriter-guitarist Mark Knopfler has revealed about 2013 UK tour, which includes a run of dates at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

The singer starts off his tour on May 17th for a gig in Glasgow’s SECC, before travelling to Newcastle, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Birmingham, and Brighton.After wards they moved to play six-date residency at Royal Albert Hall,, which ends their tour on June 1st. Mark Knopfler known to be one of the most critically and commercially successful artists of all time along with his band Dire Straits or as a solo musician.

Mark Knopfler New Releases!!!

This year's Ivor Novellos Life Achievement Award has been awarded to Mark Knopfler, who will now release his eight studio album, Privateering, on Mercury Records on September 3rd, 2012.

Privateering is a soulful and heartfelt collection masterfully performed by a group of world class players.

In addition to what has become Knopfler's long-time band, hand-picked guest aces include Kim Wilson (harp) of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Tim O'Brien (mandolin), singer Ruth Moody of The Wailin' Jennys, Paul Franklin (pedal steel) and Scotland's Phil Cunningham (accordion).

Twenty new titles were recorded at the artist's British Grove Studios in London with the following players:  Richard Bennett (guitar), Jim Cox (piano) Guy Fletcher (keyboards), John McCusker (fiddle), Mike McGoldrick (whistle and flute), Glenn Worf (bass) and Ian Thomas (drums).  Knopfler was assisted by co-producers Guy Fletcher and Chuck Ainlay.

Knopfler is one of the very renowned and popular successful artists of all time. He has already sold in excess of 135 million records along with that he has an honor of receiving number of awards as well.

Mark Knopfler & Bob Dylan To Play Together Major U.S Arena Tour!!!

Bob Dylan has wrecked The Who's big day by announcing an forthcoming North American arena tour with former Dire Straits leader Mark Knopfler hours after the British rockers staged a phone-in press conference to launch their own 36-date trek.

Dylan's month-long autumn tour will even coincide with The Who's dates in November.

The folk rock legend will open his dates in Winnipeg, Manitoba on 5 October and wrap up the tour in New York on 11 November.

The trek marks the first time Dylan has headlined an arena tour since 2006.

Dylan and Knopfler toured Europe together last year.

A combine tour of Mark Knopfler and Bob Dylan have been announced by Midwest and East Coast, the dates for their tour has been leaked.

In 2011, both collaboratively toured Europe and this American tour will coincide with new albums from music legends. 

US and Canadian dates starting in August have been announced.

Mark Knopfler and Bob Dylan will together for a European tour this fall.

Knopfler’s band member for this tour are Richard Bennett on guitar, Guy Fletcher on keyboards, Jim Cox on piano, John McCusker on violin and cittern, Mike McGoldrick on flute, whistles and pipes, Glenn Worf on bass and Ian Thomas on drums.

Knopfler is recording his next album to hit the road with Dylan, but the session was very glad to interrupt.

Knopfler and Dylan, first time they worked together in 1979 on Dylan’s Slow Train Coming album and Knopfler produced Infidels.

Knopfler said on his website: “I’m much looking forward to going out on the road with Bob in such a special year. Also, it was an honor to be asked to record one of Bob's songs on the forthcoming Amnesty International 50th anniversary album to mark his 70th birthday.”
